Established in 1993, University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is the first international Australian university in the UAE, and is part of a global brand that has campuses in Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) offers over 40 internationally recognised bachelor and master degrees spanning 10 in-demand industry sectors.

The first internationally accredited Australian university in the UAE, we are the education gateway of choice for over 3,500 students representing 108 nationalities. 

UOWD students can choose from a wide range of graduate and post-graduate degree courses in engineering, business, ICT, healthcare, communications and media.

All of our degree courses are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education’s Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and licensed by Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), and recognised by leading professional organisations such as AACSB, ACCA, ACS, CIM, CIPD, CPA, Engineers Australia, PMI, and others.

Academic Merit Scholarship (New Undergraduate students)

Scholarship amount:

15% to 50% of tuition fees.

Eligibility :

For new students of any citizenship  applying to Undergraduate program.

Criteria: 

  • Applicants must have achieved the minimum grades as listed in the Curriculum table below.
  • Applicants must meet all of the academic and admission criteria to be admitted to the University and be intending to enroll in the relevant session for which they have applied.
  • Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all scholarships have been awarded for a trimester, no further scholarship applications will be accepted.

Sports Scholarships ( New Undergraduate students)

Scholarship amount:

50% to 2 entrants.

Eligibility :

2 New applicants at either UG or PG studies.

Criteria: 

Applicants for the Adam Gilchrist Sports Award must be a current and selected representative member of a sport (individual or team) in which UOWD fields an official team and/or competes on a regular basis. These include football, basketball (Men’s and Women’s), volleyball, table tennis and cricket. You must participate at the emirate/state, national or international level and the sport must be sanctioned, authorised and/or controlled by a representative body (an association, federation, or committee) at a state, national or international level.

In addition, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • For bachelor’s applicants, a 65% academic record in secondary school results is required.
  • Applicants must meet all of the academic and admission criteria to be admitted to the University of Wollongong in Dubai and be intending to enrol in the relevant semester for which they have applied.
  • If successful, the applicant must become an active member of the UOWD team in the sport for which the Scholarship is awarded.
Academic Merit Scholarships( Continuing Undergraduate students)

Scholarship amount:

15% to 25% of tuition fees.

Eligibility :

Continuing Undergraduate students at UOWD.

Criteria: 

  • Applications are open to current/continuing students of any citizenship
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum cumulative Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75 in their studies to date and have completed a minimum of 36 credit points (undergraduate students) to apply
  • Academic Merit Scholarships – Continuing Students are awarded at the beginning of the Autumn trimester each year. The scholarships are valid for 1 year and are worth 15% or 25% of the scholarship holder’s tuition fees at UOWD for the ensuing academic year.
  • The number of scholarships available is limited, and scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving students as decided by the UOWD Scholarship Committee.
  • Scholarships awarded will cover part of the tuition fees only for the subsequent academic year after which the scholarship has been awarded.
  • Scholarships will be forfeited if the student does not enrol in the semester immediately following the session in which the scholarship was granted. Summer session is optional.
Sports Scholarship( Continuing Undergraduate students)

Scholarship amount:

25% of tuition fees for the academic year .

Eligibility :

Continuing students at UOWD.

Unlimited  number of scholarship to eligible students.

Criteria: 

  • Student must have a minimum cumulative Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 in their studies to date. Eligible students must have completed at least 36 credit points (undergraduate students)
  • Students must be recommended by the UOWD Sports Coordinator to receive a scholarship. This recommendation must be on the basis of high performance in UOWD Sports teams and/or significant leadership of sports programs at UOWD or at a national level.
  • Students holding this scholarship must participate significantly in one or more UOWD sports teams during each semester for the subsequent academic year to maintain the scholarship
Academic Merit Scholarship (New Postgraduate students)

Scholarship amount:

15% to 50% of tuition fees.

Eligibility :

New applicants of any citizenship to full time Postgraduate study.

Criteria: 

  • Applicants must have achieved the minimum grades as listed in the Curriculum table below.
  • Applicants must meet all of the academic and admission criteria to be admitted to the University and be intending to enrol in the relevant session for which they have applied.* The below list is not exhaustive and results / curricula from other countries will be taken into consideration.

Criteria:

  • If successful, the applicant must become an active member of the UOWD team in the sport for which the Scholarship is awarded.
Academic Merit Scholarships(Continuing Postgraduate students)

Scholarship amount:

15% – 25% of tuition fees each semester.

Eligibility :

Current /Continuing students of any citizenship in Postgraduate study.

Criteria: 

 

  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum cumulative Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75 in their studies to date and have completed a minimum of 24 credit points (postgraduate students) to apply
  • Academic Merit Scholarships – Continuing Students are awarded at the beginning of Autumn trimester each year. The scholarships are valid for 1 year and are worth 15% or 25% of the scholarship holder’s tuition fees at UOWD for the ensuing academic year.
