Established in 2004, Al Ain University (AAU) opened the doors to its first student cohort in 2005. Constantly innovating, AAU expanded its facilities by opening a second campus in Abu Dhabi in 2008, offering programs in Business and Law. Having begun with three colleges (Engineering, Business, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences), the University has continued to expand its program offerings which now include 22 undergraduate programs across six colleges (Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Business and Communication and Media), 8 Master’s programs, and 1 Professional Diploma in Teaching program.

AAU is licensed to operate under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE). AAU continues to successfully seek international accreditation of its programs by respected educational bodies. The College of Engineering programs (“B.Sc. in Networks & Communication Engineering”, “B.Sc in Computer Engineering” and “B.Sc. in Software Engineering”) are accredited by (ABET). The “Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy” program has the distinction of being the first in UAE to be certified by (ACPE). Moreover,  the “Bachelor of Law” has been accredited by (HCERES), the College of Education, Humanities & Social Sciences has granted the CAEP Accreditation to two academic programs: Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Teaching and Bachelor of Education in Special Education, the College of Business accredited by the (AACSB), and the “Bachelor of Mass Communication and Media” program has been accredited by (AQAS), respectively.

Academic Scholarship - for Undergraduate

Scholarship amount:

20% to 100% depending on  General Secondary School academic results.

Benefits:

Eligibility :

Students who excel academically or in extracurricular activities.

Criteria: 

Full grant The first five students in the UAE. Applied on the credit hours fees, and to continue this scholarship, it is required to maintain a minimum semester GPA of 3.8 and enroll in no less than 15 approved credit hours.
50% Students getting 99% and above Applied on the credit hours fees of the first semester, and to continue this scholarship, it is required to maintain a minimum semester GPA of 3.8 and enroll in no less than 15 approved credit hours.
40% Students getting 98% up to 98.99%
30% Students getting 94% up to 97.9% Applied on the credit hours fees of the first semester, and to continue this scholarship, it is required to maintain a minimum semester GPA of 3.6 and enroll in no less than 15 approved credit hours.
20% Students getting 90% up to 93.9%

 

 

Academic Excellence - for Undergraduate

Scholarship amount:

Benefits:

40% discount for the University’s honor list from fees of credit hours.

30% of the College’s honor list from the fees of the credit hours.

Eligibility :

Criteria: 

Student should successfully complete a minimum of 15 credit hours in the first or second semester with a GPA of at least 3.6.

Brothers and Relatives - for Undergraduate

Scholarship amount:

Benefits:

20% discount on the credit hours fees for the brothers registered in each semester (Exception for the first one).

Eligibility :

Parents, sons and daughters, and spouses registered in each semester are treated as brothers.

Criteria: 

Students who lose their breadwinner-for Undergraduate

Scholarship amount:

50% of the tuition fees

Benefits:

Eligibility :

Criteria: 

  • The student must have lost their breadwinner while studying at the university.
  • As attested death certificate shall be submitted.
  • The student has not been awarded another scholarship from any other official party.
  • The student will only benefit from this grant in the semester following the submission of the relevant death certificate.
  • The student does not have other resources which enable him/her to continue his/her university studies.
Children of Employees- for Undergraduate

Scholarship amount:

50% of the credit hour fees

Benefits:

Eligibility :

Sons and daughters of the university’s academic and administrative staff.

Criteria: 

Outstanding Students in extracurricular activities-for Undergraduate

Scholarship for one semester with a specific percentage

Al Ain University (AAU) Graduates- for Postgraduate

Scholarship amount:

40% discount in the first semester of their Master’s degree enrollment,

Benefits:

Eligibility :

Al Ain University (AAU) Graduates.

Criteria: 

A minimum registration of 6 approved credit hours.

To continue receiving the discount, the student must register for at least 6 approved credit hours per semester and achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.3.

Outstanding Bachelor's Degree Holders -for Postgraduate

Scholarship amount:

10%discount for enrolling in the Master’s program.

Benefits:

Eligibility :

Outstanding Bachelor’s Degree Holders (non-AAU graduates)

Criteria: 

Students with a Bachelor’s degree GPA of at least 3.6

To maintain this discount, the student must achieve a semester GPA of not less than 3.0 while registering for 6 or more approved credit hours.

Humanitarian Assistance and “Contribution” Fund-for Undergraduate

The University also provides humanitarian assistance to students who have harsh financial conditions preventing them from completing their undergraduate studies.

Humanitarian Aid

The University offers grants for one semester for students who cannot afford to pursue their studies.

Contribution fund

The funds come from donations and grants from bodies that wish to help students facing financial difficulties.

Criteria:

  1. These scholarships are limited to undergraduate students only.
  2. The minimum GPA for obtaining the Humanitarian Aid discount is 2.5.
  3. Scholarships and discounts do not apply to English Levels exams, registration fees, or extracurricular activities fees.
  4. These scholarships cover the fees for the first and second semesters only.
  5. Scholarships and discounts do not apply to students funded by outside parties.
  6. The students should not collect two scholarships at the same time. The highest of the two will be considered eligible for the scholarships.
  7. The scholarship is not applicable to repeated courses.
  8. No student shall be entitled to a scholarship during the semester where s/he was given an academic warning.
  9. No student shall be entitled to a scholarship if due to disciplinary punitive.
  10. Scholarships and discounts are not given retroactively.
  11. Scholarships and discounts are not applied to summer courses.
  12. No students shall be entitled to postpone studying during the grant period.
  13. A granted student must pay the financial obligations on time.
  14. Students with grants are expected to be an example of commitment to the rules of conduct at the university.
